Building a brand is something that is important for each and every business owner. The argument could be made that every person needs to be aware of their own personal brand image and what that says for the people you meet or encounter. Making your company into a mega brand is something that companies hold as a far off dream of one day being able to achieve. Imagine seeing yourself on a billboard or in a TV show commercial. What would you be doing, who would you be representing, how would people think of you after seeing that piece of media. This week we had the pleasure of sitting down with Baton Rouge’s billboard man himself, Gordon McKernan. While people may think of him as the billboard lawyer, he is truly doing amazing things in the community to give back and retain people in our state. Following in his father’s footsteps Gordon set out to be a trial lawyer in the courtroom. After realizing that he needed to grow the brand beyond word of mouth, he took to the skies above the roadway and started getting his name image and likeness out there for people to think of him as a household name. Fast forward 20+ years and he has over 200 employees within the state of Louisiana and is devoting more of his time on making great lawyers that provide the best service for their clients. Oh, and he has a swag room in his office!
