This week we sat down with Bryan McGehee to discuss innovating on a product that was already dominated in the market by one brand. Going from the oil field to entrepreneur was no easy task. Bryan traded his life on the road for one that was to be uncertain for years to come. However, he and his brother knew they wanted to go into business and create the brand Gatr. Initially starting out by creating and selling coolers to friends and family, they quickly realized they were on the cusp of creating a brand that captured their heritage. Growing up outside of the Houma/Thibodeaux area, life was filled with countless run ins of wildlife and alligators were high on that list. Trapping and catching alligators was a part of their culture and they knew they wanted to build a brand around that. Utilizing their skills learned on the pipe lines and oil field, they wanted to create a value added product that stood out from the rest. And that they have indeed!
Thank you for your continued support of the show, we truly appreciate each and every one of you for making this possible and helping us provide a platform for local business owners to share their story just like Bryan.
